Overview

We’re living in a time where tariffs are a hot topic in business circles. For US importers and exporters from overseas, the impact of tariffs—current or potential—is impossible to ignore.

Here at Survive the Tariffs, our goal is simple: to help you stay informed. We’ll be pulling together recent media articles about tariffs so you can track where the conversation is heading without having to sift through endless news yourself.

1 What We’re About (and What We’re Not)

Let’s be clear: we’re not here to tell you whether tariffs are good or bad. We’re also not making predictions about the effects of any new tariffs or changes. There are plenty of experts out there who specialize in that, and we’re happy to leave it to them.

What we will do is focus on how tariffs—and the discussions around them—might impact businesses. Think of this as a helpful digest of what’s happening in the media, curated with your business interests in mind.

2 How Often Will We Publish?

That depends. When tariff discussions heat up, we’ll post more often. If things cool down, you might see fewer updates.

Right now, coverage seems to have slowed down a bit. Tariffs dominated the news in late November, but interest has eased through December. Will this trend continue? Probably not. As the inauguration draws closer, we expect tariffs to return to the headlines.

3 What Tariff Increases Can We Expect?

Here’s the thing: predicting tariff rates is a risky game.

We know what was discussed during the election—proposals like a 60% tariff on all Chinese products and 10-20% on imports from other countries. Since then, those numbers have shifted, and they’ll likely shift again.

It’s fair to say the coming weeks and months will bring clarity, but for now, nothing is set in stone.

4 Why This Matters

Whether you’re importing, exporting, or just keeping a beady eye on the global market, staying ahead of tariff changes is key to adapting and thriving. Our updates aim to make that easier by delivering the most relevant news in one place.

We look forward to helping you navigate what’s next. Keep an eye on this space—there’s plenty more to come.
